Water degassing column

Column degassing: A column with packing or structured packing to create the largest possible specific surface area is sprinkled with the water to be degassed. This flows downwards over the packing elements and collects in the lower part of the column. At the same time, CO2 flows upwards through the column in a countercurrent to the water. Due to the large height of the column, the contact time between the water and the stripping gas is sufficiently long. Under these conditions, very good degassing can be achieved. Column degassing systems are characterised by their simple design, are virtually maintenance-free and can be cleaned with standard cleaning agents and temperatures. Such a system requires little space.
