Description
Three-stage water degassing plant for water degassing and CO₂ impregnation.
1. Initial degassing and pre-impregnation (degassing tank 1)
The raw water enters the first degassing tank through an injector nozzle at a pre-pressure of at least 5 bar. The water jet is broken up and mixed with the gas mixture of CO₂, O₂ and N₂ drawn in from aeration tanks 1 and 2. The N₂ and O₂ released during the process escape from aeration tank 1 (along with a small residual amount of CO₂) into the atmosphere.
2. Second degassing and impregnation (degassing tank 2):
The water, which has already been partially degassed and pre-impregnated, is drawn off from the first degassing tank by a centrifugal pump and forced through the injector nozzle of the second degassing tank. The water jet is split and mixed with CO₂ from the gas chamber of the impregnation tank. The released gases (O₂ and N₂, as well as the excess CO₂) escape from degassing tank 2 into degassing tank 1, which is under a similarly low positive pressure.
3. Impregnation and adjustment of the final CO₂ content (impregnation tank).
A centrifugal pump draws water from the second venting tank and forces it through the injection nozzle of the impregnation tank. This breaks up the water jet, which is then mixed with CO₂ at impregnation pressure from the gas chamber of the impregnation tank. Small residual amounts of O₂ and N₂ are released and escape (along with the excess CO₂ used for impregnation) into vent tanks 1 and 2. The desired impregnation pressure (and consequently the final CO₂ content) is set via a pressure-regulating valve.
