Description
Two-stage plate heat exchanger for cooling spent wort. Approximately 10 hl of wort can be cooled in one hour. The plate unit consists of 80 plates made of AISI 316 stainless steel, with a total effective surface area of 6.38 m² and a thickness of 0.5 mm each. The gaskets are made of EPDM.
In the first stage (pre-cooler), the wort is cooled from 96°C to 15°C (whilst simultaneously heating the brewing water from 12°C to 80°C). In the second stage, the wort is further cooled to 6 °C (whilst simultaneously heating glycol from -2 °C to 8 °C).
